My chihuahua coughed, now has an oozing neck hot spot. What's wrong?

I have a chihuahua. She was coughing really bad like she was trying to cough up something but never would. Then she started scratching, licking and biting herself but stopped coughing. Now she has this place come up on back of her neck oozing, hair mats together even after i give her a bath in medicated shampoo that is made for hot spots.

I am sorry to hear about Lil Bit. It sounds like she has several different problems going on and I would recommend bringing her in to the vet for an exam. If she has a bad hot spot, often we need to prescribe systemic antibiotic and steroid or anti-inflammatory medication to get it under control, in addition to clipping and cleaning the area. They can also check to ensure she does not have an underlying respiratory or heart issue that could have caused her coughing.
