Hi. I have only one pigeon as my pet.I won't let her out as she can't able to to fly high. I can't buy another pigeon which would be her friend. Everyone around me says that we should not leave a pigeon lonely and it should have some pigeon friends. Is that true ???Would she feel lonely??? Is that bad??? Please tell me..Will being lonely make her sad?? Tell me please. thank you

If you are unable to get another pigeon for Sheephony, there are other ways you can help with any loneliness. Adding in some toys that she enjoys playing with, an object she can snuggle up against that is warm or soft, or even adding in some favorite treats and interacting with her more can all help with loneliness. If she seem sad or ill, having your vet take a look to rule out any health issues is always a good idea too. Birds that are sad or ill may be listless, not want to eat or drink, or not interested in activities they once enjoyed.

If you feel that Sheephony is lonely you can try adding in another pigeon to see if it makes her happier. Adding in some enrichment such as special treats, a toy to play with, or just spending time interacting can also help combat loneliness and help her to relax and feel better. Some birds also enjoy things such as soothing music or TV shows played, or even exploring around a room that is safe for them to do so.
