Where can I find free vet care for a sick stray cat in North Carolina?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered

I made a quick decision when I saw a stray kitten on the road & Without thinking I immediately introduced him to my other animals. I noticed his eyes had discharge and he was sneezing a lot. I brushed it off. He is very social and active with my guinea pigs. The other day my guinea pig, Pegasus, passed away, no scratches. The cat eye is really red, blurry, & swollen. I can't afford to take him to a vet or lose another beloved pet. Is there any free no-kill shelters or programs for strays in NC?

I'm assuming you mean North Carolina. Unfortunately without narrowing down where you live, I cannot tell you if there are any no-kill shelters or programs in your area. The best thing I can advise is for you to search the internet for your area to see if there are any around you. Best of luck.
