Is it normal for my puppy's wiggly tooth to fall out when teething?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Female | 4 months and 14 days old | 5 lbs

My puppy, Ellie, has a really wiggly tooth. To be more specific, it's where the bottom canine tooth would be on a human on the left side. I’m wondering if it is supposed to be lose, and fall out soon or not. She is teething, after all, so I'm not that worried about it but I would still like to know if that usually happens.

Great question! Ellie's tooth should fall out on its own, as she is teething and her adult teeth will be coming in soon. You might not even see the tooth fall out, as puppies often swallow their baby teeth when they fall out. Best of luck, I hope that helps!
