My cat has a scratch on her nose. What should I do or apply to it?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

I just noticed a scratch on my cats nose. I’m not sure how she got it. Is there anything I should do? Or something I should apply to the scratch?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! This is very mild and probably does not require any further therapy. Keep a close eye on it and if it does not improve in the next week or so, have her evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment though that is unlikely to be needed. Good luck and have a good night!

I would have Kiki seen by a vet for this. She may need medications to help it heal, as she keeps scratching at it. There could be an underlying cause as to why she keep scratching at her nose, such as allergies or a foreign body, and the vet can determine if there is one and can treat her for it.
