How to care for an abandoned, declawed cat when you have other cats?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | 8 lbs

My neighbors moved and left their cat. She is young, older than a kitten. I have been making sure she eats and has water. I have 3 cats of my own, 8 yr male, 4 yr. fm, 18 maths fm. I don’t know any at all vet, shots. She is a front declaw. That is all I know. We have had down pour rain all day. She just wants in. I know introductions take time. I have obviously done a few. what can I do for shelter for her? I worry she is lonely. Missing family.. SPCA only picks up Ill an injured. What can I do?

That is terrible that Kitty Kitty was left behind, especially since she is declawed. She has no way to protect herself against predators and other cats in the area. Can you put her in the garage for now? Or maybe put her into her own room in your house where the other cats cannot contact her? She should be brought inside to protect her from the rain and other animals. If you truly can't keep her, maybe you can put an ad on social media for a cat that needs a new home. You are very lovely for looking after her, but please do bring her inside somewhere so she can have protection and shelter. I hope this helps!
