My cat is still sick and weak after vet. When should I take her back?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Longhair | Female | spayed | 6 lbs

24 hours ago my cat was sick a couple of times, and lost all her energy. Took her to the vet 12 hours ago, who said it was probably eating grass. She is still not eating barely drinking and doesn't even want to hold up her own head. How long should I wait before taking her back to the vets?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Loss of appetite and inappetence can be observed with many conditions such as gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, kidney disease, pancreatitis, among many other possibilities. I recommend that you have Ebony reevaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment as she has not improved and and is not drinking well which concerns me that she will get dehydrated. They would be able to check for these possibilities and others depending on the findings on exam. Treatment would be based on findings. Good luck and have a great day! Hoping for a speedy recovery!

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Loss of appetite can be observed with many conditions such as gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, kidney disease, pancreatitis, among many other possibilities. I recommend that you have Kanma evaluated by a veterinarian as soon as possible for further assessment and treatment. I am afraid that she is quickly becoming dehydrated and her condition is declining. They would be able to check for these possibilities and others depending on the findings on exam. Treatment would be based on findings. Good luck and have a great day! Hoping for a speedy recovery!
