Why does my Panther chameleon have lumps and sores on its body?

Hello. Our Panther Chameleon has developed several lumps / sores on his head, feet and body. Please could you let me know what this could be?

Poor little guy! I would recommend taking him to a veterinarian for a good physical exam. These guys can get bacterial and fungal infection of the skin. It’s important to look at the lesions and possibly run a few Test to determine why the lumps are present. Hope that helps

    They have the appearance of papillomas. This would need to be confirmed by your veterinarian or a vet experienced in treating reptiles. The good news is that are typically benign but may lead to secondary infection. The bad news is that there is ko cure. It is possible he has suppressed the virus until stress of some sort caused it to surface. If you have other reptiles, wash your hands thoroughly before and after handling him or cleaning the enclosure.
