Puppy rash near private area: What could it be? How to help?

My puppy moose has a rash around his private area. What could it be? How can I help?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! This looks like a focal infection. You can try to use a medicated shampoo containing chlorhexidine twice weekly for 2 weeks. If there is no improvement or in the meantime this appears to be getting worse, have him evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Good luck and have a good night!

HI, thanks for using Petcoach! It looks like your lab has a skin infection (pyoderma) either caused by a yeast or bacterial infection. It could be a reaction to something in the environment at the beach or to a shampoo or deodorizer from the groomer. Sometimes the Vet needs to get involved to provide antibiotics, but you can try a medicated shampoo. Bathe him 2-3 times per week and let the lather sit on the affected areas 10 mins before rinsing. If no improvement or it gets worse bring him to your Vet. Hi my puppy has small dots around his private part and he has been a little down
