Is my 9-month-old female dog in heat? Brown fluid & swollen privates.

Hello! Oreo is about 9-10 months old and has brown fluid coming from her private parts. I think she's having her first heat cycle? She isnt fixed, we plan to try to get her to have puppies in the future. Can you tell me if she really is in heat? Her privates do look bigger than normal. But She is completely normal, eating, drinking and playing.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Oreo. Yes, she does appear to be in heat. I typically do not recommend breeding for the first time until the dog is at least two years of age. This gives her time to mature. So be sure to keep her away from male dogs for the next 2-3 weeks. I hope this information helps!
