Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | neutered | 10 years and 7 months old | 85 lbs
My 11 year 85 lb Rott-GSD mix has hip dysplasia & arthritis in his shoulder. He has severe pain, doesn't put weight on his rear leg in the last few weeks. Has several oozing sarcomas on his back. We have been seeing his vet every 2 wks. He is on 227 mg Previcox 1x day & 50 mg Tramadol every 4-6 hrs. Gabapentin was tried but didn't help. We have decided to make the final trip Monday. Can we try an extra dose of Previcox to help him through Sunday? Want to ease his pain, not kill him.

I'm so sorry Bubba is doing so poorly! Unfortunately, by law it is illegal for the experts at Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to say it's safe to give an extra dose of medication without seeing the animal in person first. That's because doing so requires a veterinary client patient relationship which cannot be achieved via an internet forum. If he's in a lot of pain, I would give his vet a call now to discuss if they feel it's safe to give him some extra Previcox. Best of luck.
