Why is my 9-month kitten shedding so much? How long does it last?

How long does cat shedding/moulting season last? Any tips on how to handle it? My 9 month kitten is going through it for the first time and I'm having to groom her up to 6 times a day, and everytime more hair comes out. Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Mediumhair | Female | spayed | 9 months and 16 days old | 9 lbs

Most cats have "major" sheds twice a year. In the Fall, as they prepare to grow in a winter coat and in Spring to get rid of it. They will shed some hair throughout the year to maintain a healthy coat. Continue brushing Raven daily. It will help her shed and will prevent her hair from getting all over to a certain degree.
