My cat fell and won't put weight on his back leg. Is it a sprain?

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Mediumhair | Male | neutered | 5 months and 25 days old

My cat fell on hus back leg and he started crying and limping and hissing at first. He’s acting like his normal self now but he still won’t put any weight on his back foot and he won’t bend his ankle. I’ve carefully felt both his ankles and nothing feels out of place or swollen. Did he just sprain his ankle or is it something else more serious?

It certainly could be a sprain, but he would need an examination and x-rays to be sure. I would recommend that you have Ziggy checked out by the vet. They may want to do x-rays all the way up the leg to the hip and spine to make sure there are no fractures.
