My Persian cat is weak after kittens. When is it safe to breed?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Persian | Female | 5 years and 5 months old | 4 lbs

Tell me the schedule of Persian cat mating Because i think my cat has become weak after delivery. Cat has delivered 4 kittens in the month of April. I think she has become weak after delivering and feeding her four kittens. When should i allow my tom and cat to mate again to ensure healthy kittens and mother?

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! If Tiger is weak 4 months after giving birth she needs a Vet exam before even considering breeding her again. She should be feline leukemia and FIV tested, dewormed and appropriately vaccinated. They should also be sure she doesn't have a uterine infection. I would not breed a cat that is weak until she is strong and normal, whether that is 2-12 months from now. I wish Tiger the best!
