Why won't my 8-week-old puppy walk on a leash and keeps sitting?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Female | unspayed | 2 months and 5 days old

My 8 week old cocker spaniel poodle mix won’t walk on her lead she will pick and choose when she wants to walk and which way she wants to go it’s really not working this way because she dictates which way we are walking and how long we walk for and if she doesn’t get her way she will just sit on the floor and there’s no moving her really need help with this one

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Kodi. At only eight weeks of age, most puppies have no idea how to walk on a leash. It is a skill that takes time and practice to learn. Her behavior sounds every normal for her age. Ar this age, you can begin teaching her basic commands such as "sit" and "down". Continue to expose her to leash walks, but it will most likely take a month for her to start grasping the concept. Good luck!
