My dog has a soft, non-solid lump on its side. Is it serious?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Female | unspayed | 8 years and 1 month old | 80 lbs

I just found a lump on my dogs side. Its soft to touch, not a solid mass. Would this be something i should worry about?

Hi there and thanks for posting! It is hard to say what this mass may be without examining Mama first. Some masses are cause for alarm and others are not. In order to determine what it is, you’ll need to visit your veterinarian and get a small sample of the mass. Your veterinarian will then be able to determine whether or not it is concerning or needs to be removed. I hope this helps!
