Where to buy reliable, vet-recommended Feliway for anxious cats?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | spayed | 6 years and 7 months old | 12 lbs

Hi, I was wondering if there were vet recommended feliway sprays I can buy. They seem really pricey online and I don't want to spend money on one that end up being unreliable. My cat gets really anxious in the carrier and sometimes spoils herself and starts panting so I'm in urgent need of feliway spray. Thank you!

The original is still the best. There are generic versions, however I found them unreliable. The price difference is not huge, so I suggest you invest in the original Feliway spray from CEVA. Check on line (search for ) "Compare prices for Feliway spray". You can also start leaving out the carrier with the door open, put a nice bed in it and feed her near it at first, moving the food closer and closer and finally feeding her in the carrier. This will also take some anxiety away. When driving in the car, cover the carrier, so the cat cannot look out the window, as this is really scary for a cat as she cannot understand why everything passes her by so fast.

Hi and thanks for posting! Feliway spray can be purchased through your veterinarian, through certain retailers such as PetCo or through online stores. There are other less expensive brands that do work well. I have included one such product below. Although Feliway and similar products have been tested for efficacy, the only way for you to know if they are going to work well for your Blbi is to try it out! A lot of these sprays do have a satisfaction guarantee so if it doesn't seem to work well, you can return it. www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/comfort-zone-spray-and-scratch-control-spray-for-cat
