Dog's bulging eye needs surgery. How to ease discomfort until then?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 10 years and 3 months old | 4 lbs

My small Maltese poodle mix Oliver 10 yrs old has his eye buldging out we took him to an animal hospital where we were told it needs to be removed the operation is more then I can afford for as much as a week is there anything I can do to ease his discomfort until then?

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Oliver! Did they diagnosis him with glaucoma? If yes that is very painful and usually results in permanent blindness. You can ask your Vet for eye drops to lower the pressure in his eyes (for comfort purposes until surgery) and oral pain medications. You can also have your Vet refer you to a Veterinary ophthalmologist for a second opinion. I wish you and Oliver the best!
