Can new kittens sleep alone in their safe room with adult cats?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Have 2 kittens for 2 weeks and 2 older adult cats. Not getting along. Been alternating sleeping with kittens in their safe room and some nights with adult. Feel like iam neglecting adults. Is it ok for the kittens to sleep by themselves in their safe room more nights than they are?

it is ok to sleep with your adult cats most of the time. Eventually the kittens will probably come lie with you as well. In the beginning there will probably be hisses etc. but eventually over time the cats probably will take turns. Do not lock them inot the 'safe room', keep it open, so they can start to get more couragsous venturing out and start to interact with the adult cats. It will take time, but eventually they will all at least tolerate each other.
