How much for vet tests for dog with seizures, red eye, bloody poop?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 25 lbs

How much do you think a total workup would cost if I go to the animal hospital for my dog. She has seizures, red eye (in the corner), and bloody poop. What tests would they do and how much would it cost? My guess was that they would do a blood test, head examination, and physical examination. But I still don't know how much that would cost. Also what workups would you do?

Please keep in mind that costs of procedures vary between areas and clinics within a specific area, so the prices I'm giving you are a very rough estimate. You would have to take Luna into the vet in order to get an exact cost. I imagine they would start with a physical exam, blood tests, and urinalysis. A physical exam can be between $45-55, blood tests could be around $100-$200, and a urinalysis around $50. A fecal exam may be done as well, and that could cost $40. The vet may want to further tests such as x-rays, which can start at $100 or more for one view. Depending on the results found, the vet may want to do further diagnostics. Personally, I would start with a physical exam, blood work, urinalysis, and fecal exam, and may add on additional tests from there depending on the results. I'd make an appointment for her with a vet. I hope this helps!

If you call your veterinarian's office ahead of time, they can quote you their office's exact prices for tests over the phone, so you can be prepared. They won't be able to tell you exactly what the vet will recommend, but the can tell you how much the individual tests would cost. Have a good day!
