Why does my healthy dog keep eating cow poop, and is it safe?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | 27 lbs

My dog is eating cow poop. She do not eat her own poop or any other dog poop but only cows poop and not everytime sometimes she smells and leave it but sometimes she tries to eat and I stop her. She is eating a cooked meat and vegetable as food. I gave her variety of meat to eat with different vegetables everyday. She is getting complete nutrition according to my research. She is dewormed. Why is this happening? I don't want to give her kibbles.

Apparently something that the cows eat smells good to your dog and therefore Tofy eats it. It is not usually a problem if dogs eat cow poop, but sometimes there could be detrimental bacteria in the poop which could make your dog sick. So it would be better not to let her eat the cow poop.
