My cat has maggots in a paw wound, no vet. What can I do at home?

You will need to clean the wounds with a mild soap and water, then disinfect them. Make sure all the maggots are washed out. You should lightly wrap her feet so the flies cannot lay more eggs into the wounds. Try to get your cat to a pet doctor somewhere!

    Hi and thanks for posting! Oh dear, this doesn't sound good. If maggots are present in the wound, it is likely very infected and will probably need antibiotics from your veterinarian in order to help treat. If no veterinarian is accessible, I would recommend flushing the area with warm soapy water to help flush out the maggots. You can also try using 3% hydrogen peroxide on the area as well and try to keep it as clean and dry as possible until Thadiyan can see a veterinarian. I hope this helps and best of luck!
