Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pit Bull Terrier | Female | unspayed | 8 months and 16 days old | 65 lbs

My dogs been in heat last few wks. She had bleeding from her private as usual. She got out and it was two dogs i believe got to her. Since then she has had some bleeding from her rectum and the normal bleeding has seized. She doesn't act like she feels bad, shes eating and drinking fine. Im thinking one of those dogs may have.. you know. Is there anything i can do or be looking for? She has an appt for surgery in 8 wks.

If she actually got preegnant, the she will be having puppies 8-9 weeks, so the spay date is not a good one. You need to schedule an appointment now to check the source of bleeding and to possibly give her a hormone shot so the pregnancy can be terminated. Please make an appointment with your veterinarian ASAP so she does not develop an infection.
