My cat is gagging, not eating, drinking, or playing. Is it serious?

Im looking after my friends cat while there on holiday, the cat keeps gagging and trying to vomit but nothings coming out and he wont eat or drink and he wont play with his favourite toy, is it normal for cats to behave like this or is something wrong. Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male

No, this is not normal at all and is very serious. Tiger needs to see a vet right away. It's very concerning when a cat won't eat, as not eating can and does lead to a fatty liver which is fatal without treatment. Take him into a vet today. I hope this helps.
