Why does my dog's jaw shiver when eating certain foods? Is it normal?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Female | spayed | 1 year and 7 months old | 48 lbs

Why does my dog do a jaw shiver on certain foods? I've noticed on certain sweet fruits my dog sometimes do a shiver like with her jaw. Is that bad or just strong taste buds?

Usually is due to the taste or the ''texture'' of it rather than a pathologic condition. Nothing to be worried about!
