Can my cat be spayed now if she has ringworm, or should I wait?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | unspayed | 5 years and 8 months old | 10 lbs

I would like to take my 5 year old female cat to get spayed as soon as possible but she has developed ringworms at the moment and is currently taking liquid medication prescribed by her vet, so my question is; can I take my cat to get spayed even when she has ringworms? or Would I have to wait until the ringworms are gone?

It's best to wait until the ringworm infection is finished. While this infection would not cause significant problems with the surgery, it may delay the time that it takes for her to recover fro the infection. It will also make It difficult to bathe her. I hope that helps and Nala gets better soon.
