How to keep my wandering kitten safely indoors without depression?

I Have A 4-5-month-old Kitten. I take him outside to my garden and let him run around. however recently he's been going to the neighbours garden and has gone extremely far from home. I'm thinking to keep him at home but I'm worried he might get depressed or something so I'm not sure what to do

While it can be difficult sometimes to turn an indoor/outdoor cat to one who stays strictly indoors, I think that Ray is young enough that you should give it a try if you're concerned about his safety. You could look into putting up an enclosure (sometimes called a 'catio') so he can still spend some time outdoors.
