I'm about to start weaning my kitten, and our local vet suggested cerelac, that I could mix it with KMR. Is Cerelac safe for kittens?

Cerelac is safe for kittens and does not contain any toxic ingredients, but it doesn't necessarily provide much nutrition. Your vet might be recommending this as a way to get your kitten used to some texture before offering dry food. I often recommend using KMR to moisten dry kitten food (I like Royal Canin Mother and Babycat since the pieces of kibble are tiny) and mix into a gruel. This can be placed on a shallow dish - be prepared for kitten to get pretty messy!
