How to stop 6-week-old littermate kittens from growling and hissing?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | unspayed | 8 lbs

My kittens, littermates of 6 weeks have started growling and hissing at each other at random times. They share the same room and litter box and food plate. What do I do about it. They can get very noisy and they've ruined my sleep twice in three days

The kittens are learning to live together. They play and fight and are generally a bunch of little toddlers learning how to behave around other cats. I am not concerned about their behavior at this point. You may want to put an extra litter box and food bowl out so they have plenty of options. I am sorry about your sleep! The best option may be to house the kittens in another room so they don't disturb you.
