Puppies normally have a higher respiratory rate than adult dogs. If Sadie is lethargic, she should be examined by your veterinarian to diagnose illness or injury. If she is unresponsive, have her examined at the nearest veterinary ER.

Hello, & thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. While lots of naps & a slightly elevated respiratory & heart rate could be normal in a puppy, I am a bit concerned. Is Abby eating & drinking well? Is she active at all between nap times? If not, she does need a veterinary check up. This could just be an adjustment period for her, but it could also be an infection, or she may be carrying a significant load of intestinal parasite. Hopefully, she is fine, but have her looked at soon just to make sure. Take care.
