My Jack Russell has bowed front legs but seems fine. What to do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Hi, My 1 year old jack russel terrier has front legs / paws that are bent / turned outward while standing. I know this is not normal.. But he is very energetic and jumps around a lot, showing no concern about it.. Is there anything I can do?

It is unlikely that anything can be done especially in a dog which has finished growing but a review by an orthopedic specialist may be worth considering to assess for discomfort and management options. This is nit uncommon in jack Russell and many other small breeds such as shih tzu types
