Why does my dog suddenly jump or act shocked, like his leg is hurting?

My dog has something wrong around leg. He jumps sadden and start walking around. Then he seems ok after couple minutes but keeps jumping like he gets shocked or something. We took to a Vet and asked about that problem but Dr could not figure out

Poor Titus! I can understand you concern-it’s never easy when there is something wrong with our pet and we can’t figure it out! You indicate that Titus is a fairly small little guy at 7lb, but you didn’t say if it was a front or back leg that is causing him issues. If it is a back leg then one of the most common problems we can see with small breed dogs is what is known as a medically luxating patella. The patella is the knee cap, and it can slip out of place either when the dog is moving, or in some cases when they are lying down relaxed. It feels very strange for the dog and a ‘hopping’ or jumping gait is very commonly seen. Another cause for sudden movements like this is parasites such as fleas, which will suddenly bite the dog and cause pain. I would recommend videoing the episodes when they happen so your vet can have a good visual of what you are seeing. Also discuss the above potential causes with your vet and see if either of them fits with what is found on physical exam.
