Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 18 years and 7 months old
I was trimming my cats matts and there was an accident. I clipped off about a one cm sq. bit of skin by accident. The wound is hardly bleeding just enough to be red and scab over. I'm wondering what if anything I should do about it, she's not show any pain or even fussing over it. I should note that while she's otherwise healthy for her age is eating and has lots of energy, she is in the late stages of mammary cancer. How should I help her. A veteran isn't an easy option due to our financials.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Shu! I have seen this many times. It really depends on how deep the wound is. If it deep then sometimes it needs to be closed with staples, stitches or surgical glue. If it is not full thickness then it could scab over on it's own. Be sure she can't lick the wound and keep it clean. You can always post a picture, I wish you the best!
