Cat vomited after new wet food. Is it safe to feed him before work?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Turkish Van | Male | unneutered | 9.2 lbs

We stopped giving dry food for our cat from last week. We used to give him Sheba tuna and chicken twice a day. Yesterday I had given him Sheba prime cut chicken breast at night, he ate it fast and morning I saw that he has vomited. He has eaten this food before 4 to 5 times. Please advise me. I leave for job in sometime. Should I provide him food

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I would not feed again now, just feed again when you get home from work. If Whiskey vomits again, switch back to the other food. If the vomiting continues after that, see a vet. Best wishes to you and Whiskey!
