My dog has started grunting strangely. He still is eating, but is drooling excessively and getting winded quickly. Symptoms have been going on for 2 days.

Nelson could be grunting because he's in pain. The drooling could be causing by an upset stomach or dental problems, both of which can cause pain. Pain would also lead him to be more lethargic than usual. Given that this has been ongoing for two days, it's time for him to see the vet. The vet can diagnose what is causing his symptoms, and how best to treat it. Best of luck.
