My dog won't drink water, eats ice, and has soft poop post-surgery?

Lou has been not wanting his water the past 2 days. Drinks very little after eating but eats ice chips as often as he can he had IVDD surgery 7/19/18 and his nuerologic funticion is great he eats well and wants to play even in crate rest but when he poops he only poops a little and it’s kinda mushy with some form which just started 2 days ago he was pooping alot and kinda hard up after his surgery and up until 2 days ago I was told to keep an eye out for any diarrhea or vomiting. Pet's info: Dog | French Bulldog | Male | unneutered | 2 years and 6 months old | 23 lbs

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. To be honest, if a dog is eating and happy, he is almost certainly getting enough fluids. As for the soft stool, it doesn’t look abnormal enough for me to be terribly concerned. Call and let your surgeon know but in general, if Lou is eating and happy, a little soft stool is no big deal.
