Is my 8-month-old Ragdoll cat overweight or ideal at 10 pounds?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Ragdoll | Female | spayed | 8 months and 13 days old | 10 lbs

(Has pictures to aid you in giving a response) My 8 month old female ragdoll cat, Josephine, is 10 pounds now. Is she overweight? My family is concerned, but I know that ragdolls are supposed to be a bit bigger than the average cat. But I still am not sure, so could you please tell me whether she is overweight or not?

10 pounds is a good weight and for now she should not gain much more. Try to keep her at this weight. She is a bit chubby now. Her endweight should not be more than 10 to 12 pounds. Exercise your kitty a lot , by throwing crumples paper balls , put a feather on a string and let her chase it. You want muscle on her, not fat.
