My cat fights the neighbor's cat. Should I be concerned about safety?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | spayed | 9.5 lbs

The cat next door chases my cat. When they meet, they briefly fight, but so far no injuries. Should I worry? I want to keep my cat safe, don't know if the other cat will harm her?

I would ensure Hunter is up to date on vaccinations to prevent transmission of diseases such as feline leukemia. I would also consider keeping Hunter indoors to prevent these fights. All it takes is one time and you may have a serious injury or infection to deal with from the fight. I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns and I would be more than happy to help you further.
