My female cat is mounting my male cat. Is she in heat or mating?

i hv one male cat and one female(Mano) and Mano is older than male cat.and male cat have about 8 month age.and mostly i see mano is coming over male cat,as like male come on female..but mostly i see my female cat(Mano) is coming over a male cat,,like a mating position??what is this??and what thay are trying to show??plzzz answered me m confused after seeing this so many times... It could be that Mano is in heat and she wants to mate with your male cat. That would be a reason for her to adopt a mating position. If you do not want kittens, I suggest keeping them completely separated, and having Mano spayed and the male neutered. Best of luck.
