My dog's CBC is abnormal. Should I stop Prozac for high liver enzymes?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | American Staffordshire Terrier | Male | 2 years and 7 months old | 55 lbs

I was told by my vet that my dogs CBC was all over the place. I don’t understand what that means. When I asked for clarification, she told me simply to take my dog off his Prozac. He was never giving a CBC before and I am very concerned.

Well, I would not call these results "all over the place". The CBC is fairly normal however, your dog's liver enzymes are high. Obviously your vet thinks that the Prozac your dog is taking is damaging his liver. So take Jax off his Prozac and then return for another assessment of his liver enzymes in about 6 weeks (or whenever your veterinarian tells you to.).
