Hello, I am more looking for your professional opinion/advice on a matter. I have wanted a cat for a long time, but I work out of town 3-4 days a week. People say that cats are independent and will be okay as long as they have food, water, an auto cleaning litter box, and entertainment. But, I’m extremely hesitant to get an animal and put it through that without the advice of an expert. Would a cat be okay, or is now just not a good time for me to have one until I can have someone else be there

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I think it might be best to hold off on getting a cat until your job changes and you are home more. I wouldn't suggest leaving any animal for that many days every week. There would be lack of bonding and what if the cat gets sick while you are away. You would have to pay someone every week to come daily to feed the cat and clean the litter box. Personally I recommend waiting. I wish you the best!
