Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Female | unspayed
We've just brought a 10 month old Chihuahua and as expected is a very excited soul but also doesn't want to part with any of us at bed time and will just follow us to the stair gate to the point of closing it and walking upstairs then she will just move about a bit then let out a loud bark every couple of minutes. When I put her in her dog bed I say "bed" everytime but she immediately gets up, I've tried telling her to stay but she doesn't. In the end we have to allow he to sleep in our bed :(

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Misha. Congratulations on welcoming her to your home! As far as night time routines, you may wish to consider a crate for her if you do not want her I your bed at night. You can try placing the crate in your room as some dogs are happier when they are near you. Others will find this frustrating and want to be out and in your bed. In this case, try leaving the crate downstairs. Make the crate a happy place for her wothbspecoal treats and toys. Never use it for punishment or time out. You can place her in there for short intervals during the day as well to help her become accustomed to it. It may be a tough transition as she will still protest a bit. I am sure she enjoys sleeping in your bed! If you are consistent with her, she should adapt. I hope this information helps!
