My 120 lb dog got 15mg Meloxicam for arthritis. Is that dose too high?

My 120 pound dog was prescribed 15 mg Meloxicam for arthritis seems high please help!

That does seem quite high. In my drug handbook, the reported dose is 0.1mg/kg. For a 120 pound dog, this is 5mg. I would ask your vet to re-calculate the dose or choose a different NSAID all together. Personally, I don't like using meloxicam in large breed dogs and I use carprofen, deracoxib, or firocoxib.
