My cat is hunched over, not drinking, and acting very sick.

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Mediumhair | Female | spayed | 1 year and 3 months old | 7 lbs

My cat has been sick since yesterday. She is in a hunched over position. Face towards the ground and glassy eyes. She was went to her litter box once last night. She did eat her treats. I haven't seen her drink any water. I'm not sure if it's a coincidence but she brought a mole home two nights ago. I could see she took a couple bites out of it. I've picked her up a couple times. No crying or anything.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I am sorry to hear that Kneads is not feeling well. Being in a hunched over position usually signals abdominal discomfort. Not drinking water is concerning because cats can get dehydrated very quickly if not drinking. Possibilities at this point include pancreatitis, gastroenteritis, among many other possibilities. Eating the mole is unlikely to be playing a factor though it could be. I highly recommend that you have Kneads evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They would be able to check for these possibilities and treat accordingly. Good luck and have a great day!
