Why is my cat suddenly limping on her hind leg with a high fever?

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | spayed | 1 year and 6 months old | 7.7 lbs

Cat has a 104.1 temp and a limp on the left hind leg. Did not see any injury when to bed find and woke up with the limp. Indoor only cat and only cat no other pets. is eating but not like before and is drinking water fine.

Hello and thank you very much for your question. With the history that you were giving me, I worried that there may be a puncture wound or abscess formation on the left rear leg. Another possibility would be that we have hurt our leg somehow and the pain associated has caused the temperature to rise. Nevertheless, with a temperature that high, your pet needs to see the veterinarian as soon as possible to get a correct diagnosis and treatment started. If there were not a fever associated, I would tell you to wait for 24 to 48 hours with complete rest of the cat with no movement. But because of the fever, you do need to see a veterinarian.
