Should my Great Dane puppy get gastropexy to prevent twisted stomach?

My puppy is 55 lbs. at 4 1/2 months old and is approximately 25 in. to shoulder. My vet said at 6 mo. he should have his stomach tacked. He's also 1/2 Great Dane. Second opinion? Pet's info: Dog | Great Dane | Male | unneutered | 4 months and 13 days old | 55 lbs

Hello, Ivan’s breed is highly predisposed to gastric dilatation volvulus or a twisted stomach which is life threatening. Tacking the stomach is a life saving prophylactic measure. I strongly support this recommendation.
