My cat is lethargic with a fever and abdominal lump. Is it urgent?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 4 years and 11 months old | 10 lbs

5 yr male cat lethargic, fever? No appetite, lump on abdomen appt. in 2 wks. How cn I bring fever down make him comfortable? Emergency? Or wait for appt? Lost some weight. Low urine output.

Hello, sorry to hear about Nathan. If he has a bump on his abdomen and has a fever, then she may need to be seen on emergency basis. That bump can indicate an abscess or a tumor both of which can cause a fever. Based on your cats age I think its more likely to be an abscess. Other causes of this include things such as FIP, FeLV or FIV as well as mouth infections. Nathan should be evaluated by his veterinarian to make sure he does not have any major infection or abscess that is causing this. Hope this helps and best of luck.
