What's this painless spot on my cat's leg a month after surgery?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 5 years and 4 months old | 10 lbs

Hello! After a month of surgery, today this appeared on Azman's leg. When I touch it Azman doesn't flinch. Looks like it doesn't hurt but I wanna know what it is. Is this a harmless bruise or should I be worried?

Hi there and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to address your concern. Based on the picture, this could be an abrasion or a bruise from trauma. As long as there are no other bruises similar to this showing up anywhere else on the body, I would recommend keeping an eye on this for now. If it does not resolve or it worsens, then I would have this examined by a veterinarian so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. I hope this helps guide you in the right direction! Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns and I would be more than happy to help you further.
