Dog attacked, no visible injuries, acting strange. Should I see a vet?

Last evening Boogie and I were going out for his walk. The minute we got outside he was immediately attacked by a Pit Bull whose owner jumped in and started prying his dog's mouth from the whole muzzle of Boogie. We came back in and and I went over him with a fine toothed comb and found not a scratch. He stayed on me all night. This a.m. I had to get him up and beg him to go out with me. I guess he's acting like he is in shock. Should I do anything?

Poor Boogie! I'm sorry to hear that this happened. How frightening for both of you! Since he isn't wanting to get up or move around this morning, I would definitely recommend taking him to the vet for an exam. He may just be sore, but internal injuries are always a possible concern after a dog fight, even if there were no outward marks. Your veterinarian can examine him to see if anything is seriously wrong, and may recommend x-rays or other testing if needed.
