My cat ignores me now. Why is he suddenly more affectionate with my husband?

I have a 9 year old male neutered cat. He has always been extremely affectionate with me. While he has always been affectionate with my husband & children, it was ME that he always sat on & cuddled with. He needed to be with me constantly. If he wasn't sitting ON me he would be BESIDE me & always had to have a part of his body touching me. For last 2 weeks he has barely acknowledged me. He no longer sits on my lap nor does he sit beside me but he is suddenly more affectionate with my husband.

Hello, some cats can undergo different behaviors and may prefer different people at times. This is typically not associated with anything major. However, there are some diseases that may cause changes in attitude. This includes hyperthyroidism and rarely acromegaly. Other signs with these diseases include increased drinking and urinations, a ravenous appetite, and weight loss. This can be screened with routine bloodwork, so have him evaluated by your veterinarian for these.
